Send us photos, get a free expert assessment, and we'll mail you a prepaid, insured shipping kit. You get a firm written offer based on the live metals market. Accept it and we cover everything, or pay only return shipping to get it back.
Pawn shops lowball you on the spot. Online auctions quietly skim 20–50% of your value in fees. We built a transparent third choice: you keep more, with none of the pressure.
More money, less hassle, zero pressure. That’s the whole point.
Four steps from your kitchen table to a fair offer, with nothing out of pocket to find out.
Photograph your items with our quick guide and upload them.
We send an honest preliminary range, usually within a day.
A prepaid, insured kit arrives, and you pay nothing to send it in.
We test, weigh and send a written offer. Accept and get paid, or it ships back (return at our discounted rate).
From a single inherited ring to a box of mixed thrift-store finds. No lot is too small or too messy.
Rings, chains, broken pieces, any karat.
Flatware, tea sets, marked .925.
Bars, rounds, “junk silver,” coins.
Mixed lots, holloware, unmarked silver.
Albums, sets and world coins, graded or loose.
Whole inherited collections.
Every piece is priced against the live precious-metals market the day we test it: by weight and purity, or at melt value, whichever pays you more.
No mystery numbers, no haggling. You see exactly how your offer was built, in writing, before you decide a thing.
You keep 80–90% of your items’ value, depending on quality. The rest covers professional testing, insured two-way shipping and our overhead. That’s it.
We're Rob and Ally Bernard, and South Eastern Ontario Precious Metals is our family business, based in South Eastern Ontario and shipping to families right across Canada. We started it after watching people we love get lowballed at pawn shops for pieces worth far more than they were told.
You're not dealing with a chain or a stranger behind glass. You're dealing with us: real people who weigh, test and price every item by hand, and who'd rather earn a fair, lasting relationship than a quick markup.

A few clear photos help us value your pieces accurately the first time: no guessing, no back-and-forth.
Tip: rest items on a plain, dark cloth to make gold and silver really stand out. Have several pieces? Number them (Item 1, Item 2…) and keep each item's photos together.
Tell us what you have and add a few photos. We'll reply with an honest range, usually within one business day.
Because everything happens by prepaid, insured mail, you get the same fair, transparent offer whether you're in downtown Toronto or a small town three provinces away.
Every major city and all the little towns in between, served by one insured network from our South Eastern Ontario home base.
Correct. The online assessment is free and the inbound insured kit is on us. Accept our offer and everything's covered and you're paid. If you decline, you simply cover the return shipping to get your items back.
You can, but it usually costs far more than it looks. Between seller commissions (often around 30% on full-service estate platforms) and the buyer's premiums that quietly hold winning bids down, a large slice of your item's value goes to the platform instead of you. You also wait weeks, do the photographing and shipping yourself, and have no guarantee what a piece will fetch on auction day. With us, your items are priced against the live metal market, you keep far more of the value, and you get a firm number up front. No gamble.
Every offer starts from the live spot price of the metal on the day we test it, then applies a clear, published percentage based on purity and quantity. We show you the weights, the purity and the math in writing. No mystery numbers.
No problem. Until you accept the written offer, your items are still yours. Decline and we ship everything back, fully insured and tracked. You just cover the return postage.
Yes. The prepaid kit we send is fully tracked and insured both directions, so your items are protected from the moment they leave your hands.
Sometimes, yes. For larger lots and full estates we can occasionally arrange an in-person assessment anywhere in Canada. And if you're within a one to two hour drive of Kingston, we can often do home visits for smaller items as well. Every visit is item dependent and arranged individually: tick the box on the assessment form, and once we've seen your photos we'll confirm what's possible.
For a completed purchase, Ontario rules require us to record valid government-issued photo ID, the same as any reputable buyer. It keeps everything above-board and protects you, too.
A few photos is all it takes. Like our offer? You’re paid within a day of accepting. Don’t? Everything comes straight back to you. Your items stay yours until you say yes.
